BBC: Milan is about to loan + selective buyout to sign Bonifas, may give up Hoylen
According to the BBC, Milan may abandon Hoylen as it is about to sign Bonifas.
Leverkusen striker Bonifas is about to complete a loan deal to join AC Milan, which may end Hoylen's chance to join Milan. Milan had previously wanted to loan Hoylen from Manchester United, but it was stalled in negotiations because the negotiated contract structure did not include a forced buyout.
Milan has now turned to Bonifas, taking the same transfer form as Hoylen, which contains only one selective buyout clause, and Milan can freely decide whether to buyout next summer.
Naples is also looking for player No. 9, and Lukaku may be injured for up to 4 months. Earlier this month, Hoylen had expressed plans to stay at Manchester United, despite his unstable performance in the previous two seasons.
Now Manchester United has signed Sheshko for £73.7 million. In Manchester United's last preseason game with Fiorentina, Hoylen was placed on the bench and was later not on the roster in the Premier League match against Arsenal.
