Capello: Inter Milan is not as passionate in Serie A as the Champions League, fatigue and weather affect the Club World Cup

Inter ended the 2024-25 season after being eliminated in the Club World Cup. Italian coach Capello commented on Inter's season.

Inter Milan failed to win the trophy this season

I mean in Serie A, not the Champions League. Inter Milan's Champions League journey has nothing to blame. Although they lost 0-5 in the final, they defeated Bayern and Barcelona. Those games are extraordinary and unique and will be remembered forever in history. But in Serie A, we did not see Inter Milan showing the same competitive momentum and passion as in the Champions League.

Do you think fatigue has had an impact on Inter Milan?

This has a great impact on the team in the Club World Cup. Fruminense had more energy, faster reactions, and even better luck in the game, as Inter hit the door frame twice, creating a lot of opportunities. The players are physically and mentally exhausted, which is not an excuse, but a fact. After all, Inter Milan played 63 games this season, which is a heavy burden. Inter Milan wants to do their best to advance to the next round, but they are obviously too tired.

What aspects of Inter Milan do you like most in these competitions?

I see some players working very hard, such as Lautaro and Barrera. At the same time, I also saw a change in my mentality, and there were some different things.
