Atletico Madrid forward Alvarez was interviewed and expressed his dissatisfaction with Alvarez's current situation at Atletico and talked about the future of the players.

How do you view Alvarez's situation under Simeone?

I think he was uncomfortable playing at Atletico Madrid. He has a lot of games played on the wing and never played where he should be. I know he told his family that he would think about the team and play well, and his goal was to continue as No. 9 of the national team.

Today, Atletico Madrid is a team that focuses on defense and neglects offense. I saw him passing more than finishing. He now scores goals with a free kick or a long shot outside the penalty area. The team has few offensive opportunities, which prevents Alvarez from becoming the No. 9 who scores like he did when he was in the riverbed.

We have watched some games, and Alvarez even defended in front of the opponent's penalty area. When I saw that scene, I couldn't believe it. He gets along well with Simeone, but Simeone’s way of playing is defense. I don't know if Simeone's time at Atletico Madrid is over. He was very angry when he was replaced the other day.

How do you view the future of Alvarez?

I think at some point either the coach will change or he will change himself. Someone just told me to ask him to go to Barcelona. But I personally hope he can play football at Real Madrid.
