Premier League CEO: You must be satisfied with the way Arsenal handles Thomas, the Premier League has no jurisdiction

Premier League CEO Richard Masters was interviewed and expressed satisfaction with the way Arsenal handled the Thomas Paterey case.

Thomas left Arsenal after his contract expired at the end of June this year. Four days later, he was charged by London police with five counts of rape and sexual assault on two women starting in 2022. Thomas himself denied the allegations, appeared in court early this month and was granted conditional bail before signing with La Liga team Villarreal.

Arsenal coach Arteta had previously said he was "100% sure" that the club followed the right process when dealing with Thomas's problems. Asked if we were satisfied with how Arsenal handled, Premier League CEO Masters said: "I have to be satisfied, I am very clear that this is the situation between the employer and the employee and should be decided between them. The Premier League has no jurisdiction over these specific legal issues.

"I absolutely believe that our club will take these situations very seriously and think carefully before determining whether the suspension is the right plan. ”
