According to previous reports, in order to make room to sign Smart, the Lakers cut Milton and Goodwin successively.
Milton's salary for the 2025-26 season was $3 million (unsecured), and Goodwin's salary was $2.35 million (only 25,000 is guaranteed).
Smart signed a contract with the Lakers for 2 years of $10.525 million, of which $5.134 million was US$5.134 million in the 2025-26 season and $5.391 million in the 2026-27 season (player option).
Data: After being traded to the Wizards in the 2024-25 season, Smart played 15 games for the team, averaging 9.3 points, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game, and a three-point shooting percentage of 39.2%, which is the highest in his career.
