The tough guy is back! Shams: Portis rejects player option and will sign a 3-year 44 million contract with the Bucks
According to ESPN reporter Shams, Portis refused to execute the 13.4 million player option and will re-sign a three-year, 44 million contract with the Bucks, with the 27-28 season as the player option.
Because of taking banned drugs, Portis was suspended for 25 games last season. He played 49 games in the regular season, averaging 25.3 minutes per game, scoring 13.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists, with shooting percentages of 46.6%, 36.5%, and 83.6% respectively in the three events.
In the playoffs, Portis played 5 games, averaging 14 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per 31.6 minutes per game, with shooting percentage and three-point shooting percentages of 44.1% and 35.7% respectively.
