"L'Equipe" reported that Lille goalkeeper Ozer may face a one-year suspension for leaving the Turkish national team training camp without permission. The incident occurred after he was dropped from the World Cup qualifying squad for Türkiye's 6-1 victory over Bulgaria. The Turkish Football Association officially condemned his behavior as "unacceptable" and accused him of leaving the team without permission.

Ozer retorted through social media, claiming that he had permission, and suggested that the national team's selection criteria were not based on performance. He also stated that he was injured before the game.

This matter is not over yet. According to Turkish domestic regulations, players who are absent from national team-related activities without reason can be suspended from two months to one year. The biggest uncertainty at present is whether the ban will affect his club competition in Lille.

According to Turkish media, the Turkish Football Association can report the matter to FIFA, which will make the final decision on whether to extend the ban to the club level. The Lille club’s response to the matter is simply “no information.”
