Lenorman: Atletico Madrid s lineup is very strong, but only on the court can prove whether he can compete with Emperor Sa
Atletico Madrid defender Lenormann recently accepted an interview with World Sports. He said that he joined Atletico Madrid to make breakthroughs in his career, and he is working hard to improve himself every day and fight for the championship. The ambitious player admits that Atletico Madrid has a very high roster, but it is only on the court that they can compete with Real Madrid and Barcelona. Personally, Lenorman has emerged from the shadow of a head injury last season and hopes to continue to grow, thus becoming one of the Atletico defensive leaders.
How to evaluate this pre-season training?
"Pre-season training is always difficult, because although I exercised in the gym myself during the holidays, I still feel different from the training. I am very happy to be able to train with the whole team, focus on preparing for the first pre-season warm-up match."
This is your second year at Atletico Madrid, what are your thoughts?
"I want to continue to stay in shape and try to show what I have always wanted to show - the tenacity of defense and help the team take the ball in the backcourt. At the same time, I also hope to grow further on the personal level."
You ended the season early due to a head injury last year. Do you think you haven't seen the real Lenor Mann yet?
"I think my career is long, every season is long. There will always be some ups and downs. We always try to stay in the best shape. Of course, like that impact or any injury will affect you. We will try to minimize the amount of time you get injured. For me, I want to keep improving and do it by working hard to help the team the best. "
What does that injury mean to you? Usually, players' injuries are mostly muscle or joint problems, but that time is very serious.
"That's been a thing of the past. That was last October, almost a year ago. Obviously this incident worried a lot of people, but I was not absent for a long time. Two months later I was back on the team and kept trying to get my best back."
With the departure of veterans such as Witsel and Azpilicueta, do you feel that you need to take more responsibility now?
"I think leadership is not something that is asked by the outside world, but is formed naturally. I want to show my best self on the court, and I also want to help new teammates adapt as soon as possible. Because I also went through the process of adaptation last year, I want to help them as much as I can. I will communicate with people in my own way, speak out my opinion, but I won't force them. There are many important people in the team, and our captains are also excellent. I will do my best to do my best on both individual and team levels."
Last season, Atletico Madrid was one of the teams with the least goals conceded, and Oblak also won the Zamora Award. Do you think these achievements have been recognized by the outside world?
"To be honest, I don't pay much attention to outside comments. I'm more focused on improving my own level, improving personal performance and the performance of the team as a whole. We do make progress on the defensive end. As for whether we get a fair evaluation, it depends on what the outside world thinks. We see Oblak win the Zamora again, which means we're doing a good job in defense. We need to continue to move along this path, and I believe we can go further. We have a very good team."
Atletico Madrid made a large-scale investment this year, and some people think you're close to Real Madrid and Barcelona.
"I think these two teams have been there all the time. It's a good thing for us to compete. But in the end, we have to speak on the court. It's useless to say anything now. We are working very hard to show the strength of this team. There will naturally be a chance to talk about this again later."
You were leading the way in the middle of last season, but what happened later?
"Football is like this. There will always be all kinds of things happening. I think last season was pretty good overall. Of course we all hoped to win more, and the team was very ambitious. But that's all the past. There is no control over all factors in the football world, and the opponents have their strategies and play well. We can't forget who the opponent is. Despite this, I think we had an excellent team last year, and the goal was to win the championship. This year we also hope to compete again and have started working hard for it."
After a year, what do you think is the difference between Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad? What is the biggest challenge for you personally?
"I am always grateful to Real Sociedad because they made me a professional player and gave me the opportunity to realize my dreams. Indeed, Atletico Madrid is bigger in size and demands more on you, hoping that you can fight for and win the championship. This is a huge leap for me. The time spent at Real Sociedad is also very good, with many great players. For me personally, being here means growing. There are top players around me, and every day it motivates me to play to the best of my best."
