Pay 1.3 million! Team News: Paris was sentenced to compensate Rabiot for 1.3 million euros for detaining players salaries

Football

The Team reported that Paris Saint-Germain will pay nearly 1.3 million euros in compensation to former midfielder Rabiot.

Rabiot played for Paris Saint-Germain for nine years between 2010 and 2019. In April 2019, he was suspended by the club due to discipline issues and his prize money was confiscated. Rabiot said he suffered injustice at the end of the contract and was forced to leave the team. Media reported at the time that the club had taken a series of retaliation measures to punish him for refusing to renew his contract.

Rabiot's lawyer said: "The court correctly determined that Paris Saint-Germain abused its power to exclude Arabiot from the first team."

Rabiot won the lawsuit, and he would receive some of the deducted wages, and financial penalties (including the cancellation of bonuses and suspensions) were also revoked. Paris Saint-Germain also needs to pay 10,000 euros in damages because the court believes the move hurts Rabiot's image and reputation. Total, the club will need to pay approximately 1.3 million euros, including interest and other compensation.
