Telegraph: Cristiano Ronaldo’s most candid interview turns into Morgan’s flattery, strange brotherhood painful to watch

Football

"The Telegraph" senior reporter Thom Gibbs commented on Morgan's exclusive interview with Ronaldo, saying that the strange bromance between the two was painful to watch.

This interview was billed as Ronaldo's "most candid interview", but it turned into an extremely flattering 39 minutes, most of which was spent discussing the 40-year-old player's net worth (this review took place after Ronaldo's first interview was made public).

Ronaldo wore a diamond-encrusted watch and joked to himself that he sometimes wears fake watches, before quickly clarifying that he was joking. Morgan bravely asked the question we're all thinking: "The moment you realize you're a billionaire. What does that feel like?"

Ronaldo: "I'm super happy." Morgan asked him what type of private jet he owned, and Ronaldo said a Bombardier Global Express. "Not bad," Morgan said.

The Telegraph stated that this pandering interview attitude has become a necessary condition for interviewing big-name celebrities. The bromance between Ronaldo and Morgan seems to please both men to varying degrees, which is good for them, but do we have to see it?
