Each body: Ter Stegen has returned to Barcelona after surgery

The Spanish media Daily Sports reported that Ter Stegen has returned to Barcelona after undergoing surgery for lumbar spine problems. This is the second time that Ter Stegen has undergone surgery for the same area of his back, and as Barcelona stated on its social media, Ter Stegen will be injured and his recovery will determine when he will return.

Telstegen developed discomfort after returning from vacation. He failed to participate in any team's joint training and therefore did not make it to the Asian roster.

Telstegen had to undergo medical treatment, and eventually he chose to go to Bordeaux, where he was supervised by Barcelona's medical department, was performed by Amelle Leglis at the Sports Clinic Bordeaux Merignec clinic. It is understood that Ter Stegen has returned home after driving back from a French city.

Telstegen announced his decision to undergo surgery via social media, however, contrary to the club's statement, he himself clearly stated how long he would be absent from the field: 3 months. This time period is not a coincidence, because in order for Barcelona clubs to use part of their salary to release a certain proportion of their salary space and register new players, the injury period must be at least 4 months.

However, the final decision is in the hands of the La Liga Medical Committee, and they will assess the injury time of Ter Stegen. Since the operation is performed during the transfer market, if the medical injury period exceeds 4 months, the proportion of the salary that Ter Stegen can release will be 50%; if it reaches 5 months, the proportion will be 80%.

There is no doubt that Ter Stegen's relationship with Barcelona is becoming increasingly tense. Ter Stegen's behavior at the end of the season was unhappy for the club. Ter Stegen was not willing to speak at the championship celebration party held in Montsch, nor did he go to Milan to participate in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals against Inter Milan. These behaviors also made the club unhappy. All of this has led to the possibility of his captainship position in the 2025-26 season.
